| Thal started writing poetry in 1985 and was published numerous times between 1991 and 1994. Some of these works included Lady's Circle Magazine, California Work World, and Starlight Publications. In 1993, Thal produced an instructional video for Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho on how to get poetry published. This was used in various creative writing classes. In 1994, Thal entered and won honorable mention in the annual poetry contest for The New Era, a magazine from The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints. That poem, Angels Came To Teach Him, was published in the December 1994 issue of The New Era. From 1995 through 2000, Thal started to make up stories for his children with the idea that he would get around to writing them as well. Since he found the sending of unsolicited poetry or manuscripts to various publishers too much of a hassle, Thal began writing and storing poetry and story ideas with the attitude of "someday" putting together a book or two and releasing his work. Over the past couple of years, Thal's writing has increased in pace and substance. He has written song lyrics, stories, and lots of poetry. With the advance of the internet, many new avenues have emerged to bring these stories and poems off the shelf and into circulation. Thal is currently working on publishing some full length children's books in rhyme. He enjoys sharing the joys of writing and story telling with others. He is always looking for talented musicians and illustrators to team up with. Tuckmein.com, created by Thal Dixon, is a place where he can publish his thoughts, stories and poetry at a faster pace and continue to grow as a writer. He appreciates you coming to visit his world.
