Childhood Memories

My father’s great example
I received from up above
I had my mom’s encouragement
And both my parent’s love

Through sibling fights, and troubled nights
While moving town to town
From tying shoes to driving cars
They never let me down

My father was a busy man
Whose time was never free
But every time he got a chance
He’d spend that time with me

I remember all the picnics
The camping and the fun
The vacations with my family
And everything we’ve done

Even through my teenage years
When it seemed I knew it all
They scooped me up and brushed me off
Whenever I would fall

They helped me though the troubled times
The good times and the bad
And cheered me through the victories
I very seldom had

My childhood is over now
And all my teenage strife
I’m on the dawn of another day
In this chapter of my life
