Veteran Beach

Through the wind you still can hear
The sounds of triumph, death, and fear
While bombs explode machine guns roar
Planes and soldier’s spirits’ soar

Along the beach you hear the cries
Another victim now there lies
One more soldier’s blood is shed
Another man is sent home dead

The waves still crash upon the shore
The scent of blood is here no more
No more soldiers cross the land
Killing off their fellow man

All the blood has washed away
From that cold and dreadful day
Now peace and freedom fill the air
Thanks to all those men who care
